Medals group of 8 medals to Captain Robert Capper, comprising Liverpool Shipwreck and Humane Society medals (2) in silver and gold, Life Saving Medals (one gold), a Lloyd's Medal for Saving Life, a Distinguished Cross, type, in silver, hallmarked, a medal, in bronze, Reserve Decoration in silver, hallmarked, 1914-1918 Medal. EF to GEF three with boxes. 'The Balmes' a cargo steamer of 3794 tons left Havana on 5/11/1913 bound for and , she had 103 passengers and 55 crew on board with a cargo of cotton and rum. A fire was discovered on board and an SOS was answered by Captain Capper of the 'Pannonia' which was bound for , arriving on the scene on Thursday, the day after the fire was discovered. The passengers were evacuated successfully. The ship then escorted the burning ship to before resuming her journey to New York. During World War I, Captain Capper had been in command of S.S. Ausonia and was torpedoed 600 miles from the net port. 7 boats were launched, 5 survived the hazardous journey back to Liverpool. The DSC was awarded on 7/8/1918. Sold with numerous documemtation, copies of reports of the incident, including copies of the Gazette and supplement reporting the award of the DSC

Medals War Medal, World War I Medal, and Medal, and Army Medal issue, awarded to Captain and Quartermaster A. Blythen, , NEF to EF cleaned, Andrew Blythen was born 11/11/1865 at Wrexham, He served 24 years with the Cheshire Regiment and was discharged for pension 4/4/1909. When World War I broke out he offered his services, and first saw service with the 8th Bn. Cheshire Regiment as shown on the 1918 Army list. The 1919 list shows him as a Captain employed with Dispersal Unit on the General List. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal by Army Order 217 in 1939. Thomas Graham Dundas arrived in on October 4th 1825, and was entitled to Bhurtpoor prize money of 2381 Rupees (£238 ) which he did not claim in India. Comes with copy of India Office Library and Records stating record of , date of commission of rank as Ensign 13th May 1825, and Lieutenant 19th Oct.1836, also List of services - Posted as Ensign to 15th N.I. 1825. and Capture of , Ensign 15th N.I. (India Medal). Transferred as Lieutenant to 4th Extra (became 72nd N.I) from 19th Oct.1826, after his in 1832 to Margaret Maria Louisa, 3rd daughter of Edward Swift Broughton. After a period of furlough, from 10th September 1833, he failed to report for his return and subsequently resigned his commission on 3rd Feb. 1835.

Medals - , Order of St. Joseph, Knight's Star in gold and enamel, 58mm x 38mm , gross weight 13.77 grammes, a six-armed cross, with ball finials with red-enamelled gold rays between each quadrant. Obverse: A figure of St. Joseph with UBIQUE SIMILITUS in a red enamelled border, Reverse: withy the inscription S J F 1807, NEF with some of the red enamel missing from the top of the medal below the crown suspension. The Order of Saint Joseph was instituted in 1807 by III, Grand Duke of Tuscany, (during his reign as Grand Duke of Wurzburg) and transformed in 1817 into a Tuscan Roman Dynastic Order. It is aded for s towards Tuscan culture and civilisation and to the Grand Ducal Houses as a whole. The order was originally divided into civil and categories, although these are now defunct. It is now divided into three levels: Knight's Grand Cross (30 members), Commander (60 members) and Knights (150 members). Sovereigns, Heads of State, and Princes of the Grand Ducal House and other Houses, Cardinals of the Holy Roman and Tuscan Metropolitan Archbishops were excluded form the count. All members had to be Catholics and the number of women could not exceed fifty (excluding Princesses of the Grand Ducal and other Royal Houses, wives of Heads of State and Dames of the Order of Saint ).
