Andaman Islands One Rupee 1866 Penal Colony Token Coinage KM#Tn2, in an NGC holder and graded MS62 BN, noted by 'BritishCommonwealth Coins' by Remick/James/Dowle/Finn as being 'the rarest British Commonwealth coins' and records only 5 examples having been sold between the publications of the second and third editions between 1969 and 1971. London Coins Auction A156 5/6/2017 sold an 1866 example, Lot 1049, described as 'EF silvered' for £12,000 hammer price, more recently an example in NGC AU55 BN realised HK$ 220,000 this the more common 1861. The piece offered here (1866) is certified by NGC and graded MS62 BN, one of only 3 examples graded by NGC and by far the finest known, the other two examples being graded as AU58 and AU55. NGC have graded 5 examples of the 1861 coin the finest being graded AU55, so not only is this the finest known 1866, but also the finest coin spanning both issues of this series. We also note no examples dated 1866 have been graded by PCGS, so this piece stands alone as the only MS graded example. So If you are a collector of high grade rarities of which only very small quantities are known to exist, then this is the coin for you. A true one of a kind super-rarity.

We refer to Pridmore Auction October 1982, Lots 450 and 451, this example with more similar striking and flan positioning to Lot 451, we also note a silver example in the British Museum with larger roses, and weighing 10.83 grammes, only a handful of examples known in silver, we also note examples are known struck in pewter, a pewter example selling at Baldwins in 2009 for £10,552 inclusive of buyers premium
Zanzibar Quarter Riyal AH1299 (1882) KM#2, BritishCommonwealth Coins (1971) Y3, weight 6.80 grammes, a superb example, Sharp GEF or better, the fields lustrous and prooflike with subtle blue and gold toning, displaying only a few minor contact marks, this example superior to the Krause plate example, and also superior to the British Museum example, of the highest rarity, British Commonwealth Coins by Remick states 'only a few specimens known', no prices given in current world catalogues such as Krause and this not surprising as we were unable to find any recorded sales of this type, Baldwin's have twice offered the Gold 2 1/2 Riyals in 2014 (realised £38,000) and in 2008 (realised £26,450) and this silver issue will be of similar scarcity if not rarer

USADollar 1795 Draped Bust Breen 5367 head too far left choice EF and toned desirable thus and rare in this high grade and possibly would attract an AU designation if slabbed in the US unless some surface scratches under the toning prevent numerical grading resulting in a grade of AU details
South AfricaBurgers Pond 1874 Fine Beard KM#1.2 NGC AU55, EF/GEF and extremely rare in this pleasing and high grade. This 1874 issue was South Africa's first circulating Pond (Pound or Sovereign) issue, engraved by Leonard Wyon the then Royal Mint engraver and struck by the Heaton Mint Birmingham. The coin was rejected by South African legislators who objected to the use of the portrait of Thomas Burgers the 2nd president of the Republic and the man entrusted with the design. The total issue of 695 were sold off as novelties with the vast majority becoming jewellery pieces, hence the extreme rarity of undamaged examples in this high grade. As well as South African collectors the coin fits well into any comprehensive Sovereign collection being the same weight and fineness, and in fact an example was sold in the recent Bentley Sovereign Collection at Baldwins which realised £38,000
USATwenty Dollars Gold 1907 High Relief Wire Rim (PCGS type 9135) PCGS AU58 and in an early PCGS holder with the green card attribution ticket and looks conservatively graded to us

USA Five Dollars 1805 Capped Bust to Right, Heraldic Eagle reverse PCGS AU 55 stunning example of this early iconic USA gold piece and in the early PCGS holder with the green card style attribution ticket. This coin certainly looks conservatively graded to us the reverse being particularly sharp and brilliant
China - Republic Mint Error - Mis-Strike One Dollar 1927 Memento with 6-pointed stars, Y#318a.2 a spectacular double striking with around 5mm of the lower half of the coin double struck showing a crescent-shaped portion of additional legend from 3 to 9 o'clock. The reverse therefore has an additional 'OF REPUBLIC OF', the top part of the coin having MEMENTO and the top of the Chinese obverse legend approximately half off the flan. In an NGC holder and graded MS62. We note a triple struck example of this coin sold at Heritage auctions in December 2019 described as PCGS - Genuine, AU-details Environmental Damage for $4560, this coin is of far superior eye appeal and grade, the error also is over a greater area of the coin and the double striking is more bold. A fascinating and incredibly rare error, in a series where minor errors are known, but spectacular pieces such as this must exist in extremely small numbers only.
Hungary Two Ducats Gold 1646KB Kormoczbanya mint KM#128, Friedberg 108, Obverse: Ferdinand II standing right divides the KB mintmark within an inner circle. It is estimated only 200-400 examples survive and of these many are in low grades, a key date rarity and listed in the Cherrypicker's Guide with the highest 'interest rating', this an evenly struck piece with pleasing detail and extremely rare thus, we note that the Heritage database shows only 4 examples sold since 2000. The PCGS database shows only 13 examples in XF40 with a PCGS price guide of £22,500
South AfricaBurgers Pond 1874 Fine Beard KM#1.2 GVF with some small scratches on the obverse, very rare with the mintage believed to be just 695 pieces with few surviving, most of which are ex-jewellery, we note an example in a recent London Auction described as VF, and with a scratched X in the obverse field realised over £4000

AustraliaCrown 1937 Proof KM#34 in an NGC holder and graded PF64, only 8 examples have been graded by NGC of which this is the second finest, the first minting of the Crown in Australia. The event of the minting of the Crown was well publicised, this being the only denomination minted in that year. Many examples were sold outside of the traditional numismatic market and as a result, many of the tiny mintage of just 100 pieces were either mishandled or spent into circulation. The coin attained the nickname 'Casey's Cartwheel'. Extremely rare with a mintage of just 100 pieces
