Twopence 1859 Pattern in Cupro-Nickel Peck 2029, Freeman 737 (R19) diameter 21mm thickness 2.25mm with incusely dotted edge. Obverse: Ornate crown with surrounding legend VICTORIA D:G: BRIT : REGINA F:D: Reverse: Large ‘2? in octagonal compartment PENCE above and date 1859 below. Lustrous UNC with a couple of minor rim nicks, very few examples known, other specimens, according to Peck, are in the British Museum, the Royal Mint Museum, and thus unavailable to commerce. All are much rarer than the Pennies of the same era.
