Guatemala 1 QuetzalPick 73c dated 22nd January 1992 (200) in 2 bundles of 100 consecutively numbered notes with same series prefix and suffix B - F, fairly closely numbered and with near matching serial numbers with only the 4th digit different. Serial numbers B4281401F through B4281500F and B4285401F through B4285500F respectively. Each note in green on multicoloured underprint with obverse displaying the nearly threatened Quetzal bird (Pharomachrus mocinno) important in Mesoamerican mythology at upper left and General J. M. Oreliana at right, a political and military leader in early 1900's during which time the Quetzal was established as the currency of Guatemala. The reverse featuring the Banco de Guatemala building with Plate of Leyden at left Ara del Tikal seal at right. Printed by the Canadian Bank Note Company without watermark. All notes in fresh and crisp UNC as if just came out of printing

The first bundle of a 100 notes Pick 72a first date for this type 4th January 1989 in a fully consecutive run serial numbers A1376801C through A1376900C. The second bundle of 80 notes Pick 72b last date for this type 14th February 1992 in a near consecutive run A8419801C - A8419900C missing only a small range A8419879C - A8419898C. Each note in brown on multicoloured underprint featuring at upper left - nearly threatened Quetzal bird (Pharomachrus mocinno) important in various types of Mesoamerican mythology and also an illustration of Tecun Uman at right, one of the last rulers of the K'iche' Maya people believed slain by Spanish conquistador Pedro de Alvarado in the battle against the Spanish approach to Quetzaltenango in 1524. The reverse displaying the Mayan Tikal I Temple. Printed by the Canadian Bank Note Company and without a watermark.
