Danish West Indies3 Cents Token undated (1888-1892) G.Beretta, St. Thomas, Sieg-1, Carlsen-3, Higgie-400, EF and lustrous, these token issues were used for small change for transactions involving Mexican Pesos in wide circulation at the time and they were valued using the Mexican monetary units. Many of the merchants could not or refused to redeem the tokens. Because of this, the Governor of the islands banned the further issue of these tokens on November 4, 1892
