World War I, 1914 Star, with 5th Aug. - 22nd Nov. 1914 'Mons' clasp, awarded to 2395 Pte. F.A. Farmer 9/Lond:R , EF with some discolouration to the reverse. Private Frank Arthur Farmer was killed in action on May 1st 1915, aged 29, and is buried at Bolougne Eastern Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. His Brother Leonard Arley Farmer was also killed in action.

Jones saw action at Le Cateau, and was one of many taken Prisoner of War at Le Cateau. The rear-guard action at the scene enabled the BEF to retreat from the German Army. 1914-1915 Stars (3) 10770 Pte.C.West 1st Essex Regiment. NEF. Killed in action Cape Helles, Gallipoli 6/8/1915. On August 6 1915 the 1st Essex and 88th Brigade were ordered 'Over The Top' at Cape Helles, sustaining heavy casualties including Pte.West. He is buried at Twelve Tree Copse Cemetery Sp.Mem.C.394, 17207 Pte.F Robbins 20th Manchester Regiment. NEF. About EF. enlisted 23/9/1914 Valcatier, Canada as part of Canada's Expeditionary Force. Duncan enlisted 10/10/1940, was sent to Egypt with PretoriaRegiment in April 1943, to 22nd Field Regiment, May 1943, to Italy in May 1944, and hospitalised, cause unknown, May 1944, and evacuated to South Africa . He was discharged on 2/1/1947., along with World War I to Welsh Regiments (4) 1914-15 Star awarded to 19532 Pte.W.Roberts 1st Royal Welsh Fusiliers. EF. Pte.Roberts was killed in action in France 3/9/1916 and is buried at Thiepval Memorial. Pier and Face 4A, World War I Medals (3) the first awarded to 11085 Pte.G.Jones, South Wales Borderers, NEF. Pte.Jones died of wounds in Alexandria, Egypt, 5/7/1915 after evacuation from Gallopoli, and is buried at Alexandria (Chatby) Military and War Memorial Cemetary L.10. the second awarded to 8717 Pte.D.J.Evans, 2nd Welsh Regiment NEF, Pte.Evans was killed in action 4/5/1915 and is buried at Le Toueret Memorial Panels 23 and 24. the third to 9348 Pte.C.Lewis 1st Royal Welsh Fusiliers.GVF. He died of heart failure in Calais, France on 9/12/1914, and is buried at Ploegdteert Memorial Panel 5. (All were entitled to the 1914 star and Mons clasp)
World War I1914 Star awarded to 6588 Pte.W.McDermott 2nd Connaught Rangers. with copy 'Mons' clasp. NEF. Pte. McDermott was killed in action France on 14/9/1914, probably at the battle of Aisne where the battalion sustained heavy losses. The battalion was disbanded a short time later after suffering unsustainable losses.
