Australia - Mexico Cobs (2) from the wreck of the 'Gilt Dragon', 8 Reales 1653 Mexico City Mint, moneyer P, KM#45 Fine with good shield detail, 2 Reales date not visible, shield with good detail, from the same shipment so assumed 1653 (KM#33) . The Gilt Dragon was wrecked off the Western Australian coast in 1658. She was discovered in the course of 1963 and a team of divers raised bullion and other valuable items from the wreck many of which are now in the Fremantle museum.
