Ten Pounds Peppiatt Pre-war First Period Unthreaded White Note B242a BIRMINGHAM branch issue dated 28th February 1938 serial number 174/V 78281, an excellent and Scarce branch issue and well preserved example approaching EF with very minor signs of wear and an original Bank's stamp on reverse at upper right corner with an inked/pencilled numeral possibly for accounting purposes. These branch issues are always Rare and very sought after and this example is very desirable bearing a date just a year before the issue of notes by the Bank's Branches was discontinued in 1939. Branches other than the main London branch started issuing in 1826 and as mentioned discontinued in 1939, after which they served as just distribution centres. These white 10 Pound notes were the last of the white examples for the denomination but the last of the 10 pounds until 1964 when the denomination was re-introduced again in the form of the Series C Brown Lion & Key issues of Hollom.

These high denomination Britannia medallion White notes were rarely seen by the public, if at all, and they were mostly used for inner bank transactions at the time. Five Pounds HarveyWhite Note B209a dated 1st June 1922 serial number D/25 48126 LONDON branch issue a pleasing GVF - EF and an Exceptionally Scarce note now almost a century old. Sir Ernest Musgrave Harvey was the 17th Chief Cashier which he became on the 6th May 1918 just as the end of World War I was approaching. The inflation caused during the war meant that demand for banknotes increased during Mr Harvey's time in office. Sir Harvey was knighted in 1920 and created a Baronet in 1933, among his other honours which were the CBE, Chavlier of the Legion of Honour and Chavlier of Leopold of Belgium.

ScotlandBank of Scotland 100 Pounds Bradbury & Evans Colour Trial ESSAY/SPECIMEN circa 1880 Pick NL (PMS BA78) ND circa 1880, UNC Exceptionally Rare and unusual for the time. Uniface large-sized note printed by lithography in 4 colour variations - 2 variations in red, 1 in olive-green and 1 in purple, this example is of the green-olive type. According to Douglas, these were produced in 1880 when the Bank embarked on a period of extensive research into methods to prevent forgery. Some changes were made to the earlier plate but there is no record of who the engraver was and no mention of these notes can be found in the Bank's records. A Scarce and pleasing example that would do a great addition to any collection

World (10) an interesting and very collectible group of notes in various grades mostly GVF - EF to about UNC - UNC and comprising a Scarce Russian Civil War East Siberia -Chita 100 Rubley "Sparrows" Gosudarstvenniy Bank (State Bank) - Chita branch Pick S1187b 1920 Ataman Semenov's money issued by the Government of the Russian Eastern Border Regions, variety with cubes in frame on reverse. These notes were called Sparrows due to their grey paper and were printed later in blue reason being, whatever ink was available that is what was used to print. The fate of the “sparrows” was a foregone conclusion: even when released, their cost was 2 times lower than that of Kolchak’s “Siberian squirrels”. And by the end of 1920, their value was striving for zero. Also, a very attractive and very well-preserved selection of USA Obsolete Currency of various issuers and denominations (5) comprising a Bank of New-England at Goodspeed's Landing East Haddam, Connecticut2 Dollars unissued remainder circa 1800's.
