AustraliaSovereign 1855 Sydney Branch Mint Marsh 360 GVF/EF the first Sydney branch mint Sovereign, rare in all grades and especially so in this high grade, a rare opportunity to add a choice piece to an Australian or a Sovereign collection. Whilst South Australia solved its mid 19th century currency shortage by issuing the Adelaide Pound without London's approval Victoria and New South Wales requested the creation of a branch of the Royal Mint which opened in 1855 using part of Sydney Hospital. The first coins were struck in that year, including the coin offered here.
AustraliaThreepence 1923 KM#24 Choice and graded MS66 by NGC rare thus. With a mintage figure of just 815,000 this is the second lowest mintage by date (1915 800,000) for George V business strike issues with other dates in the millions. NGC gives a book valuation of US$2,200 in MS63 with no values given for higher grades, this example is the finest recorded by NGC and their population census shows none in MS65 and one in MS64 so by far the finest recorded
Bolivia Two Escudos Cob comes with an NGC ticket stating Bolivia 2E 'Not Encapsulated - Altered Surface' (8.38 grammes) Assayers Marks P Y About Fine with some scratches, we note no Bolivia Gold cobs of this type are listed by Krause, the design matching the silver coins of the period, a curious piece, viewing recommended

German States - Bavaria Two Thaler 1854 Exhibition of German products in the Glass Palace KM#845.1 VF with grey tone, no trace of lettering to the edge, the edge a coarse oblique milling, appears struck without a collar as one side's design is slightly smaller than the other, an unusual piece
German States - Frankfurt Three Kreuzer 1856, as KM#334, the 5 of the date struck over a very small 5 (possibly from the One Kreuzer punch) the underlying 5 too far to the left with around half being fully visible, UNC and fully lustrous, the obverse prooflike, a very unusual overstrike
