English Coins 1861 Satin 28, Gouby BP 1861G as Freeman dies 4+D with central cut fishtail, this obverse rarely found on the 1861 coins, lists at £750 VF in Satin with no prices quoted for higher grades, this example is NVF/GVF. Satin census report states only three examples recorded up to 2001, with finest listed as Good Fine, we splate that this may be the finest example currently known. We also note that the example in the Laurie Bamford June 2006 was listed as Fine and realised £350 hammer price
