() Chaise d'Or () Louis de Maele 1346-1384 Ruler on ornate throne facing, holding upright sword and hand resting on shield having lion within, all within gothic poly-lobed tressure. Reverse Cross fleury with voided quatrefoil at centre, fleur-de-lis at the angles, all within quatre-lobe tressure. A superb example lustrous with a crisp and even strike, the obverse die showing a touch of light die rust. Scarce this nice, previous graded MS64 by NGC, we grade UNC with minor cabinet friction, an example in Goldbergs nnia May 2008 Lot 523 realised a hammer price of US$5250
