Auction 167
World Coins 1937 KM#34 in an NGC holder and graded PF64, only 8 examples have been graded by NGC of which this is the second finest, the first minting of the Crown in Australia. The event of the minting of the Crown was well publicised, this being the only denomination minted in that year. Many examples were sold outside of the traditional numismatic market and as a result, many of the tiny mintage of just 100 pieces were either mishandled or spent into circulation. The coin attained the nickname 'Casey's Cartwheel'. Extremely rare with a mintage of just 100 pieces £7,000 London Coins : A167 : Lot 1862 : Australia Crown 1937 Proof KM#34 in an NGC holder and graded PF64, only 8 examples have been graded ...
