Army of India Medal, reverse short hyphen type, officially impressed naming, with Bhurtpoor clasp, awarded to Ensign T.G. Dundas 15th N.I. EF with some hairlines and some rub to the portrait. Thomas Graham Dundas arrived in Calcutta on October 4th 1825, and was entitled to Bhurtpoor prize money of 2381 Rupees (£238 sterling) which he did not claim in India. Comes with copy of India Office Library and Records stating record of service, date of commission of rank as Ensign 13th May 1825, and Lieutenant 19th Oct.1836, also List of services - Posted as Ensign to 15th N.I. 1825. Siege and Capture of Bhurtpore, Ensign 15th N.I. (India Medal). Transferred as Lieutenant to 4th Extra Regiment (became 72nd N.I) from 19th Oct.1826, after his marriage in 1832 to Margaret Maria Louisa, 3rd daughter of Edward Swift Broughton. After a period of furlough, from 10th September 1833, he failed to report for his return and subsequently resigned his commission on 3rd Feb. 1835.
Ghuznee Medal, 1839, unnamed as issued, EF with some hairlines. This medal was only the second medal awarded for a particular campaign (after Waterloo) and was granted to both British and Indian troops who took part in the assault on Ghuznee in 1839 which brought the First Afghan War to a close. It was issued unnamed by the Honourable East India Company.
Afghanistan Medal, Second Afghan War, in silver, with 2 clasps, Kandahar and Ahmed Khel, awarded to 1828 Cpl. J. Denton 2/60th Foot, GVF, the obverse with some light scratches in the fields, comes with copied papers of Depot Battalions Pay List, Statements of Pay and Allowances of Recruits, and a list of Men of the 2nd Battalion 60th Rifles who have died, been killed, made Prisoners of War or deserted. This lists the death of Joseph Denton, who had been promoted to Lance Sergeant on 22nd Feb 1881, and is listed as having died on 20th April 1881, at Newcastle (Natal) soon after peace was signed. Also comes with typed history of his Military career in India, Afghanistan and South Africa.

In Exergue: City shield and motto, traces of a small spot in the obverse field of one medal, otherwise UNC in the original Corporation of the City of London 2-medal box with gilt lettering on the lid, the 2-medal sets seldom offered. BHM states that the Court of Common Council passed a resolution that in view of the approaching visit of our Colonial and Indian brethren to this country, it is expedient that this Corporation do recognise the occasion, and that a special Ward committee be appointed to consider and report as to the best manner of doing this, thereby cementing the bond of union between this country and her Colonies and her Indian Empire".
