World War I group of Four awarded to Pte. CH16430 Frederick Edwards R.M.L.I comprising 1914 Star R.M. Brigade, British War Medal 1914-1920 R.M.L.I, First World WarVictory Medal R.M.L.I, and Royal NavalService and Good Conduct Medal Type (2nd Type Obverse) MNE. R.F.R. GVF-NEF. Pte.Edwards joined in London in 1909 and was sent to Deal Depot. He joined the 9th (Chatham) Battalion RMLI , and, as part of the Royal Marine Brigade, served at the defence of Antwerp in 1914, and was part of the MediterraneanExpeditionary Force in Dardanelles and Gallipoli (Feb 1915-March 1916). Comes with copies of Pte. Edwards service record
World War I group of four to Norman Vivian Saville, Royal Engineers 16th Divisional Signals Company R.E.1914-1915 Star, Military Medal, War Medal and Victory Medal, also British Empire Medal, and World War IIDefence Medal, and silver rosettes, EF to UNC. Also comes with a host of documents and Letter from KingGeorge VI. Norman Saville was involved with the same unit throughout the First World War moving all over the Somme and Ypres area and he would have been involved in Battles of Guillemont, Ginchy, Messines, Plickem, Langemarck, St. Quentin, Rosiers and the Pursuit to Mons. During these actions he was awarded the Military Medal which was mentioned in the London Gazette on 9/12/1916, he received a bar to that medal 29/8/1918. In World War II he joined the 66th battalion of the West Riding Home Guard In the London Gazette of 15/12/1944 he was awarded the British Empire Medal (Military Division) in recognition of meritorous service to the Home Guard

A Great War DCM & MM group to Sjt. H. Temple Royal Engineers. Distinguished Conduct Medal G.V.R. (13666 2 Cpl. 1/ Sig. Co. R.E.), Military Medal G.V.R (13666 2 Cpl. 1/ D.S.Co. R.E.), 1914 Mons Star (13666 Sapr R.E.), British War & Victory Medals with M.I.D. oakleaf 13666 A.Sjt. R.E.Defence Medal, Imperial Service Medal GVIR (Harold Temple DCM MM). Mounted as worn, First two slightly polished otherwise GVF. The Imperial Service Medal was awarded to Mr Harold Temple DCM MM in recognition of nearly half a century of outstanding service to the Crown. Enlisted in R.E. in 1904, and served in Ireland, until early 1914, when he joined the Post Office Telegraph Service at New Cross. He went to France and Belgium when the war started won the DCM & MM, and was Mentioned in Despatches for Conspicuous Gallantry during operations - for repairing telephone lines under heavy gunfire, for carrying a wounded colleague to a dressing room under heavy fire and returning to duty. He was wounded twice and after six months at hospital was sent to Signal School at Farnham where he stayed till he was demobilised in 1919. He returned to the Post Office and was promoted to Inspector in 1941. He served as a Captain in the Home Guard in the Second World War.
