Army of India Medal, reverse short hyphen type, officially impressed naming, with Bhurtpoor clasp, awarded to Ensign T.G. Dundas 15th N.I. EF with some hairlines and some rub to the portrait. Thomas Graham Dundas arrived in Calcutta on October 4th 1825, and was entitled to Bhurtpoor prize money of 2381 Rupees (£238 sterling) which he did not claim in India. Comes with copy of India Office Library and Records stating record of service, date of commission of rank as Ensign 13th May 1825, and Lieutenant 19th Oct.1836, also List of services - Posted as Ensign to 15th N.I. 1825. Siege and Capture of Bhurtpore, Ensign 15th N.I. (India Medal). Transferred as Lieutenant to 4th Extra Regiment (became 72nd N.I) from 19th Oct.1826, after his marriage in 1832 to Margaret Maria Louisa, 3rd daughter of Edward Swift Broughton. After a period of furlough, from 10th September 1833, he failed to report for his return and subsequently resigned his commission on 3rd Feb. 1835.

The company was incorporated in 1892 and later expanded, acquiring two distilleries and a three-storey Italian Renaissance style office block was constructed in Greenock, along with a multi-storey warehouse block which still stands today.

Right Hon.Sir. J.C. Dimsdale, Bart., M.P., Lord Mayor' in gold lettering on the lid. J.C. Dimsdale was knighted in 1894, in commemoration of the opening of Tower Bridge. He was Lord Mayor of London at the time of the Coronation, and in 1902 he carried the Crystal Sceptre of the City of London in front of King Edward VII at his Coronation. The 1902 Coronation Honours list was released on the intended coronation day on 26 June 1902, and announced that Dimsdale would receive a baronetcy. He was created Baronet, of Goldsmiths, Langdon Hills, in the County of Essex and of Lancaster Street in the Borough of Paddington in the County of London. In June 1902 he received the 2nd class of the Japanese Order of the Rising Sun from Prince Komatsu Akihito, who was received formally at Mansion House as part of his visit to the United Kingdom to attend the coronation. An interesting piece of Royalty-related history.

Unlisted by Eimer, BHM3836. EF. The 26th June 1902 date shown on the medal is the original proposed date of the Coronation, which was cancelled due to the King having an appendix operation. The Coronation took place on 9th August 1902.
