World War I War Medal, World War I Victory Medal, ArmyLong Service and Good Conduct Medal, and Army Meritorious Service Medal George VI issue, awarded to Captain and Quartermaster A. Blythen, CheshireRegiment, NEF to EF cleaned, Andrew Blythen was born 11/11/1865 at Wrexham, He served 24 years with the Cheshire Regiment and was discharged for pension 4/4/1909. When World War I broke out he offered his services, and first saw service with the 8th Bn. Cheshire Regiment as shown on the 1918 Army list. The 1919 list shows him as a Captain employed with Dispersal Unit on the Territorial Force General List. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal by Army Order 217 in 1939.
