Shilling Isle of Man - Douglas 1811 Obverse: View of Peel Castle, no legend, within linear circle and toothed border, Reverse: Legend in 5 lines: DOUGLAS BANK TOKEN ONE SHILLING BRITISH 1811, Davis 6, EF and lustrous with hints of golden toning, with some minor contact marks, Extremely rare and a lot scarcer than the Five Shillings of similar design. Worthy of a place in the most advanced Isle of Man collection. We note the Neil B. Todd collection example was sold in 2015 and realised £1200 hammer price in a London saleroom, this piece slightly superior. We also note that there is an example in the Victoria Museum, Australia which is also inferior to this stunning piece
George Washington Lord's Prayer Souvenir Tokens (2) undated Obverse: Bust of Washington right, GOD AND OUR COUNTRY, Reverse : The Lord's prayer in 15 lines, holed at the top one with red ribbon and one with green ribbon attached NEF and EF, reported to be souvenirs from the celebration when the Eastern leg of the railroad and the Western met to complete the First Railroad across America, at Promontory, Utah, referring to the Golden Spike Ceremony commemorating the joining of the Central Pacific and Union Pacific Railroads May 10, 1869. Other similar tokens, also holed, without the ribbon were issued at the World Columbian Exposition in 1893
