World Banknotes 5 s Pick 106b (BY SC119b; PMS BA106d) second and last date for 8th March 1966 the signature pair Polwarth & Watson with only 600,000 recorded issued serial number F 351430, about UNC and pleasing in these high grades. Brown on light brown and slate blue with a motif, Bank's Coat of Arms at upper centre flanked by value wording in black panels. To lower centre is a slate blue lion flanked by filled denomination numerical values. Reverse in Brown with bank's shield at centre flanked by 2 circular panels - Bank's Coat of Arms to left and a ship to right.

World Banknotes Third Waterson issue 5 s Pick 103a (PMS BA106a, BY SC118) Reduced size issue Hollow denomination symbols dated 15th September 1961 serial number 8/B 6598 signatures Lord Bilsland for Governor and William Watson for Treasurer. The note in brown and light brown and slate blue underprint with the obverse featuring the Bank's Coat of Arms at upper centre flanked by value in wording in black panels and with lion below and the Royal Arms of Scotland with motif in left panel with Royal Coat of Arms below. The reverse in dark brown displaying the Bank's shield at centre with helmet and cornucopia above and flanked by 2 circular panels - Bank's Coat of Arms in the left and a ship emblem at right, along with denomination in wording in panels at each corner. Imprint G. Waterston & Sons, Ld. in small script at lower right on obverse. Original fresh and crisp about UNC - UNC and very eye-catching and desirable note

World Banknotes Deep Blue Borders ESSAY dated 14th August 1962 serial number 10/N 1234 signatures Bilsland for Governor & Watson for Treasurer with 3 punchhole cancels across the signatures and blue diagonally across obverse and reverse with design similar to that of Pick 106 (Calloway-Murphy BA 107a). The note with deep blue border margins and in blue and light brown with lion at centre, arms and s at left and value in wording in black panels at upper centre left and right in addition to the numerical ones to lower of the note on obverse and reverse in light brown with ship at right, arms at centre and values in words in each 4 corners. Despite the introduction of solid £5 symbols it appears that the public continued to confuse £1 and £5 notes so renewed experimentation with the colours of the £5 notes was undertaken. In 1963 it was agreed to prepare essays in blue to reflect the chosen colour of Bank of £5 notes. About UNC and an Exceptionally Scarce and seldom seen issue
