Ireland (Northern) Ulster Bank 50 Pounds Pick 338a (BY NI.844; PMI UB94) dated 1st January 1997 serial number D 0352552 signature Kells, about UNC - UNC and a scarcer note with it now being the highest denomination of the issue with no more 100 Pound notes printed. Green, brown and multicolour with small illustrations along bottom including the Belfast rock formation along with urban and rural views of Belfast, also the Bank's logo at the time serving as a silver foil security device. The reverse illustrating the Bank's Coat of Arms at centre flanked by the numerical values, along with Coat of Arms of the four provinces of Ireland in each corner - Connaught, Munster, Leinster and Ulster. Watermarked with the Bank's name across the full body of the note and printed by Thomas De La Rue Limited
Ireland (Northern) Ulster Bank limited 5 Pounds (16) George Best 60th Birthday Anniversary Commemorative issues Pick 339 (PMI UB 95; BY NI.818) dated 25th November 2006 all UNC with the famous footballer's initials 'GB' and a limited series of only 1,000,000 notes only few entered circulation, most ending up in the hands of football fans and collectors and most come in consecutively numbered sets/pairs as follows - GB 274081 & GB 274082, GB 274086 to GB 274090, GB 284390 to GB 284395 and a pair GB 102069 & GB 102070 with closely numbered GB 102064. Each note in brown on multi-coloured underprint the obverse like Pick 335 with an additional George Best emblem at left and the reverses feature pictures of the footballer. These issued just a year after his death in 2005.

Bull in black along with 5 PoundsPick 56b (BY GU45b) ND 1996 - 2008 micro-printed security thread signature D.M. Clark and a low number for this type C000870.

Serial numbers as follows - GB099451 - GB099460, GB790953 - GB790962 and GB791409 - 791418. Each note in brown on multicoloured underprint the obverse similar to Pick 335 with an additional George Best emblem at left and the reverses feature pictures of the footballer. These issued just an year after his death in 2005. All in fresh and crisp UNC and includes 22 empty original presentation Bank's wallets

In 1997 the notes were redesigned while retaining essential features of the previous issues with only additional security features now included as the most obvious now being the ascending serial numbers. All UNC. Scarce and seldom seen as a complete set. Similar designs to Pick 198( but dated as 205 ) to 201 (Blake-Callaway NR 121, 123, 125 and 127). The 10 Pounds note with an interesting history as it had to be slightly revised in 2004 where the main change being the bank title and logo now being in italic script and the note had a very short life being issued in December 2004 before the £26 million robbery which resulted in the issue being withdrawn along with other notes of the Fifth issue
