The reverse illustrating the Bank of Ireland building at centre surrounded by other various illustrations of a plane, textile and thread rolls and the passenger ship SS "Canberra". Watermarked with the bank name text across whole body of note.

The note in black and white on blue underprint. 100 Pounds no serial number prefix N-I/BB no signature and red overprint SPECIMEN on signature margin and lower right on reverse. The notes feature a sailing ship, plough and man at grindstone at upper centre and reverse blue with bank initials and value and printers imprint at lower centre. In 1997 the notes were redesigned while retaining essential features of the previous issues with only additional security features now included as the most obvious now being the ascending serial numbers. All UNC. Scarce and seldom seen as a complete set. Similar designs to Pick 198( but dated as 205 ) to 201 (Blake-Callaway NR 121, 123, 125 and 127). The 10 Pounds note with an interesting history as it had to be slightly revised in 2004 where the main change being the bank title and logo now being in italic script and the note had a very short life being issued in December 2004 before the £26 million robbery which resulted in the issue being withdrawn along with other notes of the Fifth issue

The takeover of Northern Bank by National Australia Bank on 30th October 1987 required a change of design to remove the Midland Bank motif therefore new designs were prepared and were printed and engraved by Thomas De La Rue & Co. London. The notes feature prominent men whose inventions in Northern Ireland contributed to the progress of various forms of transport. The new designs standarized the reverse of the notes with a dish antenna at left, a stylized N at centre and a computer at right. All about UNC - UNC. Scarce and seldom seen as a complete set.
