JerseyTreasury of the States 6 PencePick 1a (BY JE1) World War II German Occupation Period note in About UNC - UNC issued from April 1942 to February 1945 ND with the prefix JN only and serial number 47472 signed H. F. Ereaut titled Treasurer of The States of Jersey. The note in black on red/brown underprint featuring Jersey's Coat of Arms at left, the wording "Six Pence" in large script in the underprint and the serial number in black with the prefix and signature embedded in the printing on obverse and the reverse with the same "Six Pence" wording exactly as on obverse.
Jersey World War II German Occupation notes ND 1941-42 (23) an interesting amalgamation of these scarcer and always collectable notes some with fairly earlier, in the 5 digits, numbers and all in various grades VG to good Fine-VF. Comprising a selection of 6 Pence's Pick 1 (BY JE1) black and orange (15) serial numbers 19768,64129, 88995, 12894, 143993, 164476,258873, 275178, 401376, 423880, 431677, 578029, 586206, 663227 and 812089. Also, 1 Shillings Pick 2 (BY JE2) dark brown and blue gossiping men silhouettes (5) serial numbers 54280, 58792, 116224, 138812 and 150285. Together with the much Rarer 2 Shilling notes of the 2 varieties (3) including Pick 3 (BY JE4) orange and blue, horse cart scene (2) serial numbers 102469 and 110854, along with the Pick 4 (BY JE3) blue and pale orange without the horse cart scene serial number 27528. All signed H. F. Ereaut and these notes were permitted for issue mainly to alleviate a shortage of cash, particularly coinage, in the island during the occupation.

Jersey and Guernsey World War II German Scrip (Occupation) money both dated 7th July 1944, Feldkommandantur 515 Subordinate administrative headquarters headed by Oberst Schumacher (2) comprising 2 Reichsmark = 1 Penny serial number JGb *6314 black and blue on green underprint and 10 Reichsmark = 5 Pence black and blue on light blue underprint. The Feldkommandantur 515 arrived on 9 August 1940 in Jersey to establish a civil affairs command structure, and soon was to have a Nebenstelle in Guernsey and a Aussenstelle in Alderney. The German authorities changed the Channel Island time zone from GMT to CET to bring the islands into line with most of continental Europe, and the rule of the road was also changed to driving on the right. Scrip (Occupation money) were issued in the islands to keep the economy going. German military forces used the scrip for payment of goods and services. Locals employed by Germans were also paid in the Occupation Reichsmarks. The Germans allowed entertainment to continue including cinemas and theatre and their military bands performed in public. In 1944, the popular German film actress Lil Dagover arrived to entertain German troops in Jersey and Guernsey with a theatre tour to boost morale. Both notes stamped, UNC and seldom seen
