Germany (14) in various mixed grades mostly in the Fine/VF to about UNC - UNC and consisting of various issues and issuers mostly early 1900's and including both World War period examples. Also includes a high denomination Notgeld example from Buer (Westfalen) Stadt 5 Billion Mark Keller 659g.4 dated 23rd October 1923 . A selection of German Occupied territories issues with examples from World War I Occupation of Lithuania produced by Darlehnskasse in Posen (Poznan, Poland and part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth) dated 17th April 1916 (2) consisting of 20 Kopeken Pick R120 and the 1 Rubel Pick R122c variety with last words of text at lower right reverse "ASTONI GADEEM" in clear print. Also, World War II period examples issued by the Reichskreditkassen issued between 1939-45 (2) including the 50 Pfennig Pick R135. The 1 ReichsmarkPick R136a variety with embossed stamp series 315 number 215174. And the 2 Reichsmark Pick R137a 7 digit serial number G 5183107.Together with a selection of the Reichsbank Reich banknote various issues and denominations circa 1903 - 23 (7)
Austria 1000 Kronen (2) 1902 and 1918 VF, smaller denominations mostly 1922 (7) VF-Unc, along with (circa 100) lower grade issues mostly Austria and Germany from the 1920s, some being Notgeld, and a few later issues from Turkey
World - a Journey in Currency (206) an alluring and very colourful selection, mostly fresh and crisp UNC and mainly modern notes late 1900's to 2017, but including a few earlier examples, from various countries and issuers in 5 archival albums. Generally sorted alphabetically by country and includes complete or near complete denomination sets of the same issue, some of which Polymer examples and a Fantasy issue, with few even having their last few digits of the serial numbers matching. Also, the earlier notes as the very attractive high-grade example of the Yugoslavia, Kingdom 1000 Dinara Pick 29 dated Belgrade, 1st December 1931 series ?.0840 752 209797752. GermanyReichsbanknote example along with an exotic Notgeld 50 Pfennig Bayreuth 22nd October 1918, a town famous for its opera. Exotic issues from Saint Thomas and Prince, Madagascar, Russia, Oceania, Mauritius and many others. The Fantasy notes, a captivating set of the 2017 Private issue PortugueseAfrica, Brazil, India and Azores - Polymer denomination set by the French graphic artist Mr Frank Medina.

Various Stadts (Issuing Authority/Towns). Austria (304) includes a Rare example Hainburg A.D. Donau N.Ö. Statemented 20 Heller 2, d Haulage overprint on 40 Heller amongst other issues from Halluin Sag., Halluin Sag., KEITH an der Stubaitalbahn Bezek Nieders Tirol, Haag Am Hausruck O.Ö. Marktgemeinde, Obernberg bei Gries am Brenner Tirol, Gries Am Brenner Tirol, Radstadt Sbg. and many others. Germany (243) also includes various issues from Koolberg, Klutz, Lugde, Dobeln, Aken, Altona, Frose, Feldberg, Bremen Deutsche Amerika, Gross Nordende, Dahlenburg, Naumburg, Boppard, Pyrmont Kreis, Mainz, Rinteln a.W., Orsoy, Naumburg, Laage and others. Belgium World War I Emergency "Necessity Money" Notgeld & Private issues (150) a collection in an album in mixed mostly very high grades to UNC comprising 5 Centimes to 100 Francs from a variety of issuers as Aubel, Ville de Verviers, Ville de Leuze, Ville de Huy, Willebroeck, Eename, Sint Blasisus-Boekle, Commune de Bilstain, Commune de Hodimont, Commune d'Ensival, Antwerpen, Nederbrakel, Ville de Binche, Ville de Namur, Dendermonde, Comite Local de Chatelineau, Ooestende, Mechelen, Kortruk, Grand Bazar de ka Okace Sint Lambert, Norderwijck and others. Some cut canceled, some puncholed "PAYE" and a few retaining the counterfoil. Also includes a propaganda note 1000 Francs. GermanyReichsbanknote (2) including 20 Francs and 50 Francs both stamped "Centre de Rassemblement" Pick 181 and Pick 182 for type. Andre Dumont Watrschei 20 Francs with counterfoil and stamped "Annule" dated 17th May 1940. During the German occupation of Belgium during World War I there was a shortage of official coins and banknotes in circulation and as a result around 600 communes, local governments and companies issued their own unofficial currency to enable the continued functioning of the local ecnomies. The National Bank of Belgium's museum digitized it's collection which is available online. The lot is accompanied by a catalogue of these notes by Jean-Rene De Mey titled "Repertoire des Billets de Necessite Communaux Et Prives Bleges (1914 - 1919)" issued 1991
