Wilson and the note in black on blue underprint featuring Arms at upper left and portrait of Sir John Franklin on obverse and reverse in blue featuring Cattle, sheep and agricultural products across centre reverse. Sir John Franklin was a British Royal Navy officer and explorer of the Arctic. Franklin also served as Lieutenant-Governor of Van Diemen's Land from 1837 to 1843. He disappeared while on his last expedition, attempting to chart and navigate the Northwest Passage in the North American Arctic
WalesBlack Sheep & Bull series in sets (15) all very well preserved and in about UNC - UNC comprising The Chief Treasury of Wales First Issue Set (4) 10 Shillings and 1, 5 and 10 Pounds all overprinted in red "Cancelled 29 April 1969" and all with red dragon and a green abacus, to the lower right on the front and a painting of Caernarfon Castle on the back. The Castle Notes – Second Series set (4) 10 Shillings and 1, 5 and 10 Pounds, the 10 shillings and 1 Pound overprinted in black "Cancelled" and the 5 and 10 Pounds in red " Cancelled 4th January 1971". These no longer denominated as Welsh currency. The word 'Gynt' (meaning 'Formerly') at the bottom left of the notes is now aligned with the rest of the line. A vignette of Caernarfon Castle appears in the four corners on the back of the notes. The Chief Treasury of Wales Sight Notes with no duty stamp and overprinted "Cancelled by Order" (2) 10 shillings and 1 Pound. Along with a set of the Black bull series (5) 5 and 10 Shillings and 1, 5 and 10 Pounds. The 5 Shillings overprinted in black "Cancelled", the rest overprinted in red "Cancelled 23rd May 1969". This lot comes with a vintage black & white book/booklet titled "The Collectors' Guide to Modern Welsh Note Issues" copyrighted Richard Hugh Williams,1970 and published by Bill Pritchard, South Wales, UK.

The obverse in black on blue and light blue underprint featuring Australia Coat of Arms, officially known as the Commonwealth Coat of Arms with a shield depicting the 6 states and held by the native Australian animals - the kangaroo and emu bird, along with a portrait of Sir John Franklin, a British Royal Navy officer and a famous explorer of the Arctic who disappeared and died along with the crew on his last expedition in 1847 whilst attempting to chart and navigate the Northwest passage in the North American Arctic. The reverse in blue featuring sheep, agricultural products, boomerang and native aboriginal shield between Bull and Cow's head. Fresh and crisp about UNC and Scarce in this high grade earlier note
