Scrip (Occupation money) were issued in the islands to keep the economy going. German military forces used the scrip for payment of goods and services. Locals employed by Germans were also paid in the Occupation Reichsmarks. The Germans allowed entertainment to continue including cinemas and theatre and their military bands performed in public. In 1944, the popular German film actress Lil Dagover arrived to entertain German troops in Jersey and Guernsey with a theatre tour to boost morale. Both notes stamped, UNC and seldom seen

Better notes include Egypt 10 Piastres Egyptian Government Pick 160b dated 27th May 1917 series E/42 76483. A few consecutive sets comprising set of 3 5 MarksPick 56a series W1999645, W1999646 & W1999647. Two sets of consecutives 1000 Marks Pick 45b dated 21st April 1910 the first set of 13 series 1034748B to 1034760B and the second set of 20 series 1034981B to 1035000B and this set coming with the original bank wrapper from Berlin stamp dated 27th March 1919.
