Australia - Mexico Cobs (2) from the wreck of the 'Gilt Dragon', 8 Reales 1653 Mexico City Mint, moneyer P, KM#45 Fine, 4 Reales date not visible, shield with good detail, from the same shipment so assumed 1653. the Mo clear. The Gilt Dragon was wrecked off the Western Australian coast in 1658. She was discovered in the course of 1963 and a team of divers raised bullion and other valuable items from the wreck many of which are now in the Fremantle museum.
