Twenty Pounds CatternsWhite note World War II German Operation BERNHARD forgery B230OB dated 20th August 1932 serial number 46/M 77696, VF - GVF with multiple pinholes in body and hand stamped "VALS" where S is inked in pen translating from Dutch - False or Counterfeit. Although the operation was not successful, it had an enormous potential as at the time the Bank of England's specialists called these forgeries "the best they have seen" and if the mission was successful it would've had a devastating effect on the economy, up to 9 million Bernhard notes were produced to the amount of £134 million - a figure representing 10% of the total banknotes in circulation in the UK at the time.

Some scarcer examples consist of the rarely seen 5 Pounds Lowther B397Experimental issues 2004 with examples of the 2 types (3) consisting of the Unvarnished type (2) serial numbers XC10 998415 and XC10 998415 along with the Varnished type serial number XJ36 997708. These notes Rare in any grade, very seldom seen in UNC in fact the current Duggleby prices these notes only to the EF grade with a price of £300, they were used to test durability and issued in tranches. 5 Pounds Beale White note B270 dated 3rd August 1950 serial number S21 081953.
