George I Shillings other than 1718 and 1723 SSC extremely hard to find in high grades and are seldom offered, the joint finest known of 6 examples thus far recorded by the LCGS Population Report. We note the finest graded by PCGS is a single example graded MS64 and the finest graded by NGC is only AU58 so this piece potentially very near the top of all examples extant
Shilling 1721 Roses and PlumesESC 1171, Bull 1577 (8 strings to Harp) EF the obverse with some haymarking, our records indicate this is the first we have offered since 2003, whereas we have offered all the various overdates for this year, so probably rarer than the 'R' rating given by ESC, Cataloguer's Note, there is evidence of doubling to the 21 in the date but is quite different to examples of the published overdates we have studied, also Bull states the overdates have 7 or 9 harp strings and the Plain date coin has 8 harp strings, graded 65 by LCGS
Shilling 1727 George IIRoses and PlumesESC 1190, Bull 1695, a choice and sharply struck example, in an LCGS holder and graded LCGS 82, a stunning example and the finest of just 3 examples thus far recorded by the LCGS Population Report. This piece is markedly superior to the example formerly in the celebrated Roger Shuttlewood collection
Shilling 1750 50 over 46 Wide Round 0 in date, this contradicts the coins listed in ESC and Bull. It is stated that the 50 over 46 is only found with narrow 0, whereas the 5 over 4 is listed with wide 0. This coin clearly shows an overdate on the last two figures of the date and has the round rather than tall 0 in the date. An interesting piece, a most attractive example, the reverse particularly lustrous and pleasing with light toning. in an LCGS holder and graded LCGS 78

Sixpence 1696 Second Bust Pattern. Obverse: Fine work, a more finely engraved rendition of the Second Bust. MVS lower in GVLIELMVS, the final S lower still. Reverse: Small Crowns with Later harp, die axis inverted, 7 strings to harp. The lower bar of the E of REX very weak (appears RFX unless under magnification), the 9 of the date blocked. Bull 1304, Rarity 6, not listed in the 1992 ESC, but referred to in a footnote on page 148 thus 'There is a Second Bust Sixpence of much finer style in the National Collection. This is undoubtedly a pattern together with the Crown and Halfcrown (ESC 93 and ESC 540) of similar style. This example is the plate coin in the Bull 'English Silver Coinage' 2015 edition.
