Commercial Limited 1 Pick S331a (Calloway-Murphy CO 61a, BY SC404a) Thirteenth issue dated 1st December 1927 serial number 23A 328775 where the letter is in Gothic script signed Royden R Thomson titled Accountant and Hugh Mclaren Roberts titled ier. The Thirteenth issue notes are regarded as the finest 20th century Scottish notes and they featured the portrait of John Pitcairn of Pitcairn's, the Bank's first Chairman, based on a painting by the Scottish artist Sir Henry Raeburn. This note in dark blue on a yellow and red underprint featuring Lord Pitcairn portrait at lower centre and detail of the façade of of Scotland building at upper centre on obverse dark blue guilloche design panel with the Bank's Head Office building at centre.
