group of four to Flight Sergeant Dennis Axtell RCAF 51 and 77 Squadron, comprising Distinguished Flying Medal, 1939-1945 Star, and 1939-1945 Medal, EF to UNC, Dennis Axtell was killed in action on 26/3/1943 just three days after being put forward for the DFM, when his airct was shot down and he and five of his crew were killed. He is buried at the Maucourt National Cemetery. Comes with photocopies of documents relating to flights and also details of the crew on the final flight
