The impressively executed Fine Work Five Guineas was a highly important coin in the history of the milled coinage, it introduced more intricate detail and a superb sharp striking to the portrait, marking a significant advance to the quality of minting at the time, leading to further higher relief designs being produced in the 18th Century, right up to the introduction of the later machine-made milled coinage

Crown 1935 Raised Edge Proof with edge lettering in the wrong order. Edge reads DECUS ANNO REGNI ET TUTAMEN XXV, ESC 380, Bull 3657 nFDC attractively toned, with one small nick on St. George, the portrait and St. George retaining original frosting. Comes in the red box of issue, and the finest we have offered of this key rarity. A superb example of this stunning error edge Crown, rated R5 by ESC (5-10 examples believed to exist) and thus rarer than the 1935 Gold Proof Crown of which 25 were issued, which when offered fetches in the region of £60,000 to £80,000. This coin missing from many advanced Crown collections, and would make a welcome addition to any high quality Collection of Silver Crowns
Two Pounds 1823 S.3798 Ex-Jewellery with traces of a mount expertly removed between DECUS and ET on the edge, 15.86 grammes, the coins surfaces VF and considerably superior to those normally associated with ex-Jewellery pieces

Maundy Set 2018 S.4211, FDC in the red Royal Mint box of issue. The sets of this year show an improved quality of striking to the obverse with the hair and features suggesting new and recut dies have been used. Maundy Sets of 2018 were distributed at St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle.

Edge reads: DECUS ANNO REGNI ET TUTAMEN XXV, ESC 380, Bull 3657, UNC retaining much original mint lustre, lightly toning in the legends, a few thin scratches on the obverse evident under magnification and the reverse with a few small spots, an extremely rare error and rated R5 by ESC (Estimated 5-10 examples believed to exist), thus rarer than the gold Proof of this date (25 examples issued) which, when offered, fetches £60,000 - £80,000. Our archive database shows that this is the first example we have offered in 15 years.

Ex-Cheshire Collection, Extremely Rare, rated R6 by ESC, (3 or 4 examples known) Cataloguers note:- having had the opportunity to examine the coin before slabbing, it is apparent that traces of edge lettering remain in places so the note in ESC stating that this may be the SECUNDO edge coin with the lettering removed, would seem to be correct.

Penny 1861 Satin 28, Gouby BP 1861G as Freeman dies 4+D with central cut fishtail, this obverse rarely found on the 1861 coins, lists at £750 VF in Satin with no prices quoted for higher grades, this example is NVF/GVF. Satin census report states only three examples recorded up to 2001, with finest listed as Good Fine, we speculate that this may be the finest example currently known. We also note that the example in the Laurie Bamfordcollection June 2006 was listed as Fine and realised £350 hammer price
Shilling 1920 Obv 4 Rev B -- B.S.C. 1804 -- a scarcer obv. for 1920 being rare in this offered grade. Spink have encountered their 'recut shallow portrait' in the 1920 halfcrowns and florins, but not for any 1920 shillings. Choice for issue AU
