Along with 25 Dinars (2) including the Pick 73a dated 1986 and the Pick 72 dated 1982. A near complete denomination set, these notes were captured by the British 1st Armoured division in the Persian Gulf War. During the attack into Iraq, and the dash across Kuwait north of Kuwait city, they overran and occupied a number of Iraqi headquarters, military installations and advancing 290 kilometres they managed to destroy 3 Iraqi divisions and capturing or destroying more than 4000 Iraqi tanks and armoured vehicles along with capturing several million dollars of Iraqi currency. The seized currency was sent back to England's Ministry of Defence Cash Management Branch where they were certified and given these hand stamps.

IraqNational Bank Seventh issue 5 Dinars Pick 40b Law of 1947 (1955) signature Abdul Ilah Hafiudh serial number F011834 and variety with small head watermark, GVF - EF pressed Exceptionally Rare and widely collected. In red on multicolour featuring the popular thick lips portrait of King Faisal II as an adolescent at right obverse. The reverse depicting an ancient carving illustrating Hamurabiy yatasallam al-sharia (King Hammurabi receives the Law), Hammurabi (at left) is in conversation with the sun god Shamash. Hammurabi was the King of Babylon between 1792 and 1750 BC and, although not one of the greatest of the Babylonian kings, he is known because of this stele which contains the code of laws. The illustration is adapted from the famous diorite stele, discovered in 1901-02, which contains the laws of Hammurabi . Printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. This note is a fine example of the last issue for the National Bank before it became Central Bank of Iraq. The Iraqi revolution of 1958 lead to monumental change in the rule and administration of Iraq which lead to significant changes in the banknotes circulating in Iraq. Although the Bank's title changed in July 1956 during the last years before the monarchy was overthrown in 1958, the Central Bank's first issued notes were released into circulation on 5th February 1959 (for a full story see ‘The First Bank Notes of Republican Iraq’ in IBNS Journal Volume 44 Number 4).

IraqERRORS 250 dinars Saddam Hussein Abd al-Madjid al-Tikriti on obverse and Dome of the Rock, Jerusalem similar to Pick 88 (7) without serial numbers and all misscut and with missaligned underprint and overprint. One of the notes completely missing the reverse overprint and all with slightly different color shades of the overprint/underprint. Paper still with security thread and watermark. Iraq 1/4 Dinar Government of Iraq Pick 7e L. 1931 (1935) series G 998,719 signed Lord Kennet & Ata Amin portrait King Ghazi in military uniform printed by Bradbury Wilkinson New Malden, Fine with stains, pinholes and faint pencilled numbers. King Faisal died in Geneva on 7 September 1933 from a heart attack. He was forty-eight years old. Faisal was succeeded by his son, Ghazi ibn Faisal who was twenty-one at the time of his accession. In recognition of the new monarch, the Currency Board introduced a series of bank notes with a portrait of the young king.
