China The Canton Municipal Bank 10 Cents Pick S2276b from 1933 signatures Huang & Ch'en and a Central Bank of China 20 Cents Pick 194a from 1924. Hong Kong 10 Cents Pick 315b from 1941. Belgium Societe Generale 1 Franc Pick 86b dated 25th May 1917. France 1939 issues 5 Francs Pick 83a (Fayette F4) and 10 Francs Pick 100 (Fayette F7) and a very FIRST date for this issue 2nd February 1939 block 290 series R. 68527. Portugal Casa de Moeda 10 Centavos Pick 97c dated 15th August 1917 (2) and 20 Centavos Pick 100 dated 4th August 1922 along with a Banco De Portugal 50 Centavos Pick 112b dated 5th July 1918. Italy Biglietto Di Stato 5 Lire Pick 23f Royal Decree 07.10.1904 (1923) signatures Maltese & Rossolini block number 5302 and the 10 Lire Pick 20g Royal Decree 05.02.1888 signatures Giu. Dell'Ara & Porena block number 3318. Also includes a few French and Belgium World War I Necessity money and local currencies along with United Kingdom 9 and 1/2 percent Treasury Loan and Treasury War bonds 1999/1973. 01/09/2019 Auction 166	World Banknotes	Lot 142	Belgium World War I Emergency "Necessity Money" Notgeld & Private issues (150) a collection in an album in mixed mostly very high grades to UNC comprising 5 Centimes to 100 Francs from a variety of issuers as Aubel, Ville de Verviers, Ville de Leuze, Ville de Huy, Willebroeck, Eename, Sint Blasisus-Boekle, Commune de Bilstain, Commune de Hodimont, Commune d'Ensival, Antwerpen, Nederbrakel, Ville de Binche, Ville de Namur, Dendermonde, Comite Local de Chatelineau, Ooestende, Mechelen, Kortruk, Grand Bazar de ka Okace Sint Lambert, Norderwijck and others. Some cut canceled, some puncholed "PAYE" and a few retaining the counterfoil. Also includes a propaganda note 1000 Francs. Germany Reichsbanknote (2) including 20 Francs and 50 Francs both stamped "Centre de Rassemblement" Pick 181 and Pick 182 for type. Andre Dumont Watrschei 20 Francs with counterfoil and stamped "Annule" dated 17th May 1940. During the German occupation of Belgium during World War I there was a shortage of official coins and banknotes in circulation and as a result around 600 communes, local governments and companies issued their own unofficial currency to enable the continued functioning of the local ecnomies. The National Bank of Belgium's museum digitized it's collection which is available online.
