Australia (4) very pleasing high-grade assortment about UNC or near to UNC comprising a 1 Dollar Pick 42 (McD 105; Rks. 75) 1974 signatures Phillips & Wheeler serial number BPH 494787, QE2 portrait no Commonwealth in title. A pair of 5 Dollars (2) including Pick 44d (McD 149; Rks. 208) 1983 signatures Johnson & Stone serial number PFE 056891. Along with the Polymer example Pick 51a (McD 303a; Rks. 217a) 1995 signatures Evans & Fraser with the correct wide bonds orientation to lower left variety serial number GA 95 944914, first 2 digits of prefix give last 2 from the year of issue. And together with the 20 DollarsPick 46e (McD 191; Rks. 409a) 1985 signatures Johnston & Fraser serial number ECY 953551 variety with the OCR font in the serial number
Hong Kong The Chartered Bank of India, Australia & China10 DollarsPick 55a (Mars Illustrated Catalogue of Hong Kong Currency S12, KNB34a) and a very FIRST date for this type 1st July 1931 with 1 printed & 1 hand signed signature serial number T/G 029439, original GVF - about EF and an Exceptionally Rare note especially in this high grade for this very first date of issue. The note in black and red on light red and green underprint featuring a portrait of a helmeted warrior at left and the Royal Coat of Arms at centre on obverse. The reverse with an illustration of rice field farmers at work and pagoda building. Printed by Waterlow & Sons Limited London and watermarked with a helmeted warrior same as on obverse facing left. A very tough to acquire seldom offered example of this early first date for this type and perhaps one of the very few high-grade examples seen if not the highest. According to our research no examples of this date have been offered in grades above VF in fact the PMG Population report indicates only 32 recorded examples of this type at the time of writing with none above Choice VF 35 with the majority between VF20 and VF30, the only 1 highest graded being Choice VF35 EPQ. According to the story this note had been hiding away in a big and old late 1800's book in the possession and gifted to the owner's family from the time of their grandfather and his sister (grandmother). They were based in Chatham and the grandfather was working for the Navy at the time, serving regular tours to China, Hong Kong and general Asia and the grandfather's sister lived in Hong Kong with her husband who unfortunately passed away in one of Hong Kong's major earthquakes after which she returned to the UK. It is uncertain which of the two was the book containing this note gifted to and who had brought it back, but it is certain that this note is a fabulous and Rare find

Australia Presentation sets (3), The 25th Anniversary Banknote Set 1991, one of the most spectacular presentations ever issued, this leather bound 8 note set was produced to mark the anniversary of the introduction of decimal currency on February 14th 1966. The notes came from the archives at Note Printing Australia (NPA) and consisted of the last 800 10 shilling, 1 pound, 5 pounds and 10 pounds issues coupled with the first issue of the 1 dollar, 2 dollars, 10 dollars and 20 dollars notes. All the notes have the last 3 digits of the serial number in common while the 10 shillings and 5 pounds have fully matching serial numbers. This set is number 134 of 800. Triple Anniversary Banknote Set 1994, complementing the previous set, this premium banknote set was issued in 1994. The 800 issued leather folders each contained three banknotes which were reserved from the initial printing of the paper 5 dollars, 50 dollars and 100 dollars. Each set was individually numbered with each note having fully matching serial numbers, this set is number 134 of 800, matching the number of the set above. Presentation set of Australia's First Polymer notes 1996, Australian polymer note portfolio commemorating the world's first series of circulating polymer notes 1996, consisting of 5 dollars, 10 dollars, 20 dollars, 50 dollars and 100 dollars, the notes in this set have matching serial numbers and bear a common prefix of '00' followed by the 2 digits '96' representing the year of issue, each note is specially overprinted with the notes first year of issue, this set is number 134 of 1000, again matching the number of the 2 sets above. Very rare to see the 3 sets together and especially rare to see them all with the same issue number 134. A unique opportunity to acquire all three sets.
