06/09/2020 Auction 170	English Banknotes	Lot 115	York City & County Banking Company 5 Pounds Unissued Remainder circa 1830-80's No. D2693 (Outing 2456d) printed by Perkins & Bacon, London Patented Hardened Steel plates, a pleasing GVF - EF for type with some foxing and the note out of a frame with visible mounting points on the corners but not glued or similar, the frame had small plastic insert points for each corner of the note to be inserted in which protected the paper from foxing up at these spots. Being Rare and in high grade makes this note a fabulous example of the early provincial issues	£55
