The Castle Notes – Second Series set (4) 10 Shillings and 1, 5 and 10 Pounds, the 10 shillings and 1 Pound overprinted in black "Cancelled" and the 5 and 10 Pounds in red " Cancelled 4th January 1971". These no longer denominated as Welsh currency. The word 'Gynt' (meaning 'Formerly') at the bottom left of the notes is now aligned with the rest of the line. A vignette of Caernarfon Castle appears in the four corners on the back of the notes. The Chief Treasury of Wales Sight Notes with no duty stamp and overprinted "Cancelled by Order" (2) 10 shillings and 1 Pound.
