Florin 1921 ESC 940, Bull 3768 UNC and choice with hints of golden tone, in an LCGS holder and graded LCGS 82, very few 1920-1922 Florins remain in this original condition, as many adjustments were made to the alloy with varying amounts of nickel, Manganese and zinc used. The 'Dull Finish' experiment was later curtailed, with bright finish coins being produced again from late 1922 onwards

Very few 1920-1922 Florins remain in this original condition, as many adjustments were made to the alloy with varying amounts of nickel, manganese and zinc used, and the 'Dull Finish' experiment was curtailed. Bright finish coins were again produced from late 1922 onwards.
Florin 1921 ESC 940, Bull 3768, Choice UNC with hints of a colourful underlying tone, in an LCGS holder and graded LCGS 82, the joint finest of 20 examples thus far recorded by the LCGS Population Report, very few of these Dull Finish coins with the low relief head achieve high grades as the quality of the strike and finish are normally poor with many exhibiting streaky surfaces due to poor metal alloy mix. This a superior piece and worthy of inclusion in the finest Florin collection
