Penny 1861 Freeman 28 dies 5+G NVF/VF with a metal flaw in the reverse field, we note an example in Auction A130 described as 'Fine/Good Fine with green patina and surface marks through "having been underground" sold for £608 inclusive of buyers premium
Halfpenny 1861 appears to read HALP for HALF unlisted by Freeman or Peck, Fine with the reverse better, the finest of three examples of this rare type we have so far offered. We note that there was no example in the Nicholson collection. (a similar coin described as 'only Fair with many surface knocks and dents' sold in our June 2010 sale for £198.90 inclusive of buyers premium)
