Henry Winrow was appointed Lance Corporal on 13th July 1912, promoted to acting Corporal on 28th November 1914 and acting Sergeant on 12th December 1914. He served in Gallopoli and Mudros from 19th 1915 until 16th January 1916. He was discharged on 21st January 1916 on completion of his Territorial engagement. Comes with copy papers.

(E) Joseph William Brand R.N, HMS Gossamer 1914-1915 Star, World War I War Medal, World War I Medal, 1939-1945 Star, , 1939-1945 Medal, 1939-1945 World War II Medal, and Medal, and Distinguished Service Cross, (1942), EF in presentation box, comes with photograph and copies of papers detailing the HMS Gossamer and details of the career of Joseph William Brand. The HMS Gosamer was a minesweeper of the Halcyon class. At the evacuation from Gossamer made six trips to and from that port or the beaches and brought home 3200 men. In April 1942 the Gossamer left Murmansk with two other ships of her flotilla to assist the cruiser which had been torpedoed. Gossamer rescued 440 survivors. Gossamer red in North and on June 24 1942 was sunk by a direct bomb during an air attack.

Also comes with a host of documents and Letter from . Norman Saville was involved with the same unit throughout the moving all over the Somme and Ypres area and he would have been involved in s of Guillemont, Ginchy, Messines, Plickem, Langemarck, St. Quentin, Rosiers and the Pursuit to Mons. During these actions he was awarded the Military Medal which was mentioned in the Gazette on 9/12/1916, he received a bar to that medal 29/8/1918. In World War II he joined the 66th battalion of the West Riding Home Guard In the London Gazette of 15/12/1944 he was awarded the British Empire Medal (Military Division) in recognition of meritorous to the Home Guard

Pte.Jones died of wounds in , Egypt, 5/7/1915 after evacuation from Gallopoli, and is buried at Alexandria (Chatby) and War Memorial Cemetary L.10. the second awarded to 8717 Pte.D.J.Evans, 2nd Welsh Regiment NEF, Pte.Evans was killed in action 4/5/1915 and is buried at Le Toueret Memorial Panels 23 and 24. the third to 9348 Pte.C.Lewis 1st Royal Welsh Fusiliers.GVF. R.E. Medal, Service Medal GVIR ( Temple DCM MM). Mounted as worn, First two slightly polished otherwise GVF. The Medal was awarded to Mr Harold Temple DCM MM in recognition of nearly half a century of outstanding service to the Crown. Enlisted in R.E. in 1904, and served in , until early 1914, when he joined the Post Office Telegraph Service at New Cross. He went to and when the war started won the DCM & MM, and was Mentioned in Despatches for Conspicuous during operations - for repairing telephone lines under heavy gunfire, for carrying a wounded colleague to a dressing room under heavy fire and returning to duty. He was wounded twice and after six months at hospital was sent to Signal School at Farnham where he stayed till he was demobilised in 1919. He returned to the Post Office and was promoted to Inspector in 1941. He served as a Captain in the Home Guard in the .
