Along with 1 PoundPick 8b (BY JE11b) serial number J764877 signed J. Clennett titled Treasured of the States and the note in green on multicolour underprint with Jersey's Coat of Arms at lower centre on obverse and the reverse illustrating the view of Mont Orgueil Castle ('Mount Pride' or 'Haughty Mount') also known as Gorey Castle by English speakers which construction was undertaken following the division of Duchy of Normandy in 1204 and it was first mentioned in 1212. The castle was the primary defence of Jersey until the development of gunpowder which then rendered the castle ultimately indefensible from Mont Saint Nicholas, the adjacent hill which overlooks the castle.
