Blythen, CheshireRegiment, NEF to EF cleaned, Andrew Blythen was born 11/11/1865 at Wrexham, He served 24 years with the Cheshire Regiment and was discharged for pension 4/4/1909. When World War I broke out he offered his services, and first saw service with the 8th Bn. Cheshire Regiment as shown on the 1918 Army list. The 1919 list shows him as a Captain employed with Dispersal Unit on the Territorial Force General List. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal by Army Order 217 in 1939. World War I Group of three, 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal and Victory medals to 1214 Acting Sergeant Henry Winrow 5th (Wigan) Battalion, ManchesterRegiment. GVF. Henry Winrow was appointed Lance Corporal on 13th July 1912, promoted to acting Corporal on 28th November 1914 and acting Sergeant on 12th December 1914. He served in Gallopoli and Mudros from 19th August 1915 until 16th January 1916. He was discharged on 21st January 1916 on completion of his Territorial engagement. Comes with copy service papers.
