Five Pounds 2026 500 Years of the Crown, commemorating the introduction of the first English gold crown under Henry VIII in 1526, the reverse by Timothy Noad inspired by the original Tudor issue, with a crowned double rose flanked by the cyphers of King Charles III and Queen Camilla and the legend ANNIVERSARY OF THE GOLD CROWN 1526–2026, the obverse with the portrait of King Charles III by Martin Jennings within a distinctive border of five roses, one representing each century since the introduction of the denomination. Gold Proof, 39.94 grammes of 22 carat gold, 38.61mm diameter, FDC in the original Royal Mint case of issue with certificate and booklet, only 150 issued in this presentation, maximum mintage 160. |
