02/12/2019 Auction 167	World Banknotes	Lot 1601	Scotland Bank of Scotland Third Waterston issue 5 Pounds Pick 92c (PMS BA101c, BY SC112c) and a very last and wartime date for this uniface type 26th September 1944 and next to last prefix 13/R 2746 bearing signatures of Lord Elphinstone titled Governor and John B Crawford titled Treasurer. The note in brown on light brown and grey underprint and Uniface featuring a panel at left with a thistle motif in the Scotland Royal Arms along with the Great Britain Royal Coat of Arms at bottom and a seal featuring King William II seal on top with motto "DEO FAVENTE 1695", the Bank's Coat of Arms at upper centre flanked by black value panels above a grey medallion at lower centre. Printed by G. Waterston & Sons, Ld. imprinted in small script at lower right and watermarked with chain-like frame, Bank of Scotland text and value both in wording and numerical. The note in brown and light brown and slate blue underprint with the obverse featuring the Bank's Coat of Arms at upper centre flanked by value in wording in black panels and with medallion below and the Royal Arms of Scotland with thistle motif in left panel with Great Britain Royal Coat of Arms below. The reverse in dark brown displaying the Bank's shield at centre with helmet and cornucopia above and flanked by 2 circular panels - Bank's Coat of Arms in the left and a sailing ship emblem at right, along with denomination in wording in panels at each corner.
