These 10 Shilling notes were produced as a result of the halt in production of the earlier Second issue with black serial numbers as there were widespread complaints that they were too easily confused with the 1 Pound notes of the same period. This resulted in the serial numbers being changed to red and these the last for the Bradbury issues with recorded prefixes only in 2 letters - B and C.
