World Banknotes of the States 1 Pick 8c (similar to BY JE11a) serial number B 098701 MISSING signature destined to be F.N. Padgham with the tile Treasurer of the States. The note in green on a multi-coloured underprint featuring a young portrait of H.M. Queen at right on obverse and the reverse illustrating the view of Mont Orgueil Castle ('Mount Pride' or 'Haughty Mount') also known as Gorey Castle by English speakers which construction was undertaken following the division of Duchy of Normandy in 1204 and it was first mentioned in 1212. The castle was the pri defence of Jersey until the development of gunpowder which then rendered the castle ultimately indefensible from Mont Saint Nicholas, the adjacent hill which overlooks the castle. Printed by Thomas de La Rue & Company, London inscribed in small script at lower centre margin on reverse and watermarked with a Cow's head. VF - GVF, a Scarce and interesting error

World Banknotes of the States 1963 young H.M. Queen issues (2) comprising 10 s Pick 7 (BY JE10) a LOW serial number A000455 signed F.N. Padgham titled Treasured of the States and the note in brown on multicolour underprint with Coat of Arms at lower centre and depicting an illustration of St. Ouen's Manor the traditional home of the Seigneur of St. Ouen, and the ancestral home of the De Carteret family and the earliest record of the house dates from 1135. Along with 1 Pick 8b (BY JE11b) serial number J764877 signed J. Clennett titled Treasured of the States and the note in green on multicolour underprint with Jersey's Coat of Arms at lower centre on obverse and the reverse illustrating the view of Mont Orgueil Castle ('Mount Pride' or 'Haughty Mount') also known as Gorey Castle by English speakers which construction was undertaken following the division of Duchy of Normandy in 1204 and it was first mentioned in 1212. Pte.Phillips was killed in action in France 20/1/1916 and is buried at Miraumont Communal Cemetery C.1, 16887 Pte.P.Connor 8th Regiment of Irish Fusiliers. GVF. The 8th Regiment saw action at the Battles of Guillemont and Ginchy. Pte.Connor died of wounds in France 24/6/1916. He is buried at Bethune Town Cemetery V.E.75, D-9505 Pte.W.H.Allen 4th Dragoon Guards (Royal Irish). NEF. Killed in action, Battle for La Bassee 1/11/1914, buried Ypres Menin Gate Memorial Panel 3-5.Also entitled to 1914 Star and bar. 19056 Pte.A.Nicholas 9th Devon Regiment. NEF. Pte. Nicholas was killed in action on the first day of the Battle of the Somme, France 1/7/1916. EF. died 31/7/1917 buried Ypres, Menin Gate, Belgium (Panel 11), 8890 Pte.F.C.Brown 2nd Kings Own Royal Lancashire Regiment. NEF. Pte. Brown was born in Ahmednagar, India enlisted in Winchester, UK, and was killed in action 8/5/1915 at the second Battle of Ypres.
