Mozambique Republica 1000 Meticais Pick 135 issues 16th June 1991 (400) in 4 consecutively numbered bundles of 100 notes and all prefix BA numbers falling in the ranges 0384001 - 0384100, 0384201 - 0384300, 0384501 - 0384600 and 0384901 - 0385000. Each note in brown and red on multi-coloured underprint with the obverse featuring E. Mondlane at left, president of the Mozambican Liberation Front from 1962 until his assassination in 1969 with a bomb planted in a book sent to him, also an illustration of the Military flag ceremony and Mozambique's Coat of Arms printed on silver and gold underlay. The reverse showing the Independence monument, Maputo. Printed by Thomas De La Rue & Co. Limited and watermarked J.
