World Banknotes The National Limited Seventh issue 5 s Pick 259d (BY SC512g, PMS NA58) and a very LAST date for this issue 31st December 1956 and a later serial number E617-401 given the last recorded number is E619-785 signatures A. S. O. Dandie & D. Alexander, EF or about large and very Scarce last date issue. The last of its design type this issue redesigned in the same colours as its predecessor in blue on red and yellow underprint now featuring the Bank's Coat of Arms on obverse instead of the Royal Arms, along with a portrait of Henry Schomberg Kerr (9th Marquess of Lothian), a port scene with ships and a view of Edinburgh castle on obverse. The reverse featuring a large panel with guilloche patterns and a view of Edinburgh city. A large sized note printed by Water low & Sons Limited certain to attract much attention with this last date of issue.

The note in blue on red and yellow underprint with the obverse featuring the Bank's Coat of Arms at centre, portrait of Henry Schomberg Kerr the 9th Marquess of Lothian to left, view of Edinburgh Castle at right.
