'Rec. Oct 2nd 1914. E. Squadron 2nd Lovat (Special) Scouts, Huntingdon, Hooper John.'. The regiment was first formed in 1900 for service in the second Boer War, and has the distinction of being the first military unit to wear Ghillie Suits, a form of camouflage clothing, a net or cloth garment made to blend in with the background environment.
