s T8, T/17 012847 VG with signs of mounting on the corners, two central staple holes, and tape residue down a central fold, the reverse with interesting World War I annotations and connections. 'Rec. Oct 2nd 1914. E. Squadron 2nd Lovat (Special) Scouts, Huntingdon, Hooper John.'. The regiment was first formed in 1900 for service in the second Boer War, and has the distinction of being the first military unit to wear Ghillie Suits, a form of camouflage clothing, a net or cloth garment made to blend in with the background environment. From these scouts a sharpshooter unit was later formed and later became the British Army's first sniper unit
