AustraliaCrown 1937 Proof KM#34 in an NGC holder and graded PF64, only 8 examples have been graded by NGC of which this is the second finest, the first minting of the Crown in Australia. The coin attained the nickname 'Casey's Cartwheel'. Extremely rare with a mintage of just 100 pieces

New ZealandReserve Bank 1 PoundPick 155 dated 1st August 1934 signature L. Lefeaux serial number 11B 411748. The note in purple on multicolour underprint featuring Kiwi bird at left, Coat of Arms at upper centre and Maori King Tawhiao at right on obverse and Milford Sound fiord and Mitre Peak at centre reverse. Fine and a very rare note given that it is the first issue to be released in New Zealand by Reserve Bank of New Zealand on 1 August 1934 as the sole issuer by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1933, as until then private trading banks were the currency issuers. The discovery of gold in 1861 encouraged competing banks in New Zealand leading to a variety notes issues. By 1924, public demand for convenience in usage led to the six remaining banks agreeing a "Uniform" standard size and colour for each denomination.
Y.M.C.A. (Young Men's Christian Association) Herford & Bad Salzuflen canteen 1/6 Mark Token Voucher (Lothar-Weiß SU.9) for the English speaking Soldiers and Army in the area of Herford and Bad Salzuflen, Germany after the end of World War II circa 1945 onwards. Printed in black on light red thin cardboard and uniface, featuring the Y.M.C.A. triangle logo at upper centre which was a well recognized and common sight during the war. Almost as soon as the war broke out Y.M.C.A. developed mobile canteens to bring refreshments to the troops. These second-hand vans painted camouflage green were first used in East London and by the end of 1940 there 500 vans in operation bringing refreshments to the troops, rescue workers and victims of bomb raids. At the retreat of Dunkirk , Y.M.C.A. remained on the beaches until ordered to leave. The vans followed advancing and withdrawing armies not only serving mugs of tea but also selling cigarettes, chocolate, cake, hair cream, toothpaste and stationery. They also provided food and drink to those made homeless and hungry. They also had cinema vans and mobile libraries. The first British YMCA mobile canteen landed on the Normandy beaches on 29th July 1944. Internationally, the World Alliance of YMCAs expanded its work with prisoners of war and refugees: more than 250 secretaries visited camps in 38 countries. The Y.M.C.A. was given ‘official military establishment status’ – essentially given permission to operate with troops in all areas and particularly in front line positions which was very dangerous in these circumstances where the canteens became under attack and the men being wounded or captured. Fifty Pence, The London 2012 50p Gold Proof Piedfort Olympic Gold Medal Winners Set, a spectacular 11 coin set featuring the 11 sports that Team GB won their 29 medals in. Proof FDC with certificate number 2 (NO. 02 embossed in gold on the wooden lid) housed in a quality cabinet style wooden presentation box with a separate draw for the certificate and CD (unopened), and a CHIEF ENGRAVER MASTER PROOFS presentation card which shows the engraver's master proofs embossed in gold, the whole with outer card box. This is a rare set and must be The Holy Grail certainly of 50p sets and perhaps of the entire Royal Mint modern series since 1979. Some ambiguity has surrounded the mintages of these coins as the first time they appeared in The Coins of England reference book by Spink it was stated that just two of each coin had been struck one for the designer the other for the gold medallist. Here at London Coins we have offered four individual coins since 2012 all different sports (athletics, cycling, triathalon and tennis). The certificate on this set states 2/29, however the vendor has provided us with actual sales figures (rather than mintage limits) that he has obtained from The Royal Mint which indicate that just 15 of these 11 coin sets exist and states the additional coins issued separately so giving the following total mintages for each sport as Athletics 26, Boxing 18, Rowing 26, Cycling 26, Equestrian 22, Sailing 17, Shooting 17, Tennis 25, Taekwondo 15, Traithalon 22, Canoeing 17 (therefore no Taekwondo coins exist other than in these 15 sets). These are excessively low figures and anyone with an eye to wealth creation should reflect on the current values of Royal Mint proof sets that include gold from yesteryear, sets with mintages of 150 (10 times more than these 50p sets) can realise six figure sums. As far as we could tell this is the first example of this set offered so preparing an estimate can not be done on past results, what we can say is that the 4 individual coins we have sold totalled £20,800 or over £5,000 per coin.
USAFive Cents 1916 Doubled Die Obverse, Breen 2599, the variety confirmed by the last three digits of the date bold and with the understrike lower and to the right of the date, with also clear doubling to the feather tips, in a PCGS holder and graded XF40, listed as a separate entry in the Red book, the variety was only discovered in 1962, by which time many examples were well worn. It is estimated only 200-400 examples survive and of these many are in low grades, a key date rarity and listed in the Cherrypicker's Guide with the highest 'interest rating', this an evenly struck piece with pleasing detail and extremely rare thus, we note that the Heritage database shows only 4 examples sold since 2000. The PCGS database shows only 13 examples in XF40 with a PCGS price guide of £22,500

Examples of the medal were distributed to the inhabitants of the Pacific Islands during the second voyage of mariner and explorer Captain James Cook. The logs of the Resolution and the Adventure record more than 30 places where the distribution took place, and examples mostly appear in a worn and weathered state
Bermuda Government British Administration 1 Pound dated 2nd December 1914, serial number in red 008547, P1, PMG 25 VERY FINE. An extremely rare piece, black on green underprint with arms at left on obverse. This is the first ever 1 Pound note issued in Bermuda and the only one to be printed by the American Banknote Company, Ottawa as the following later denominations were printed by British printers, mostly Waterlow & Sons and Bradbury & Wilkinson & Co. In 1882, the local 'legal tender act' demonetized the gold doubloon, which had in effect been the real standard in Bermuda, and this left pounds, shillings, and pence as the sole legal tender. The British pound sterling then remained the official currency of Bermuda until 1970. In 1920, 5 shilling notes were introduced, followed by 10 shillings in 1927 and 5 pounds in 1941. The 5 shilling note ceased production in 1957, with 10 pound notes introduced in 1964. It was finally decided to take the action that British Honduras had already done 85 years earlier. In line with the international trend towards decimalization, Bermuda introduced a new currency in the form of a dollar that was fixed at an equal value to the US dollar. The new Bermuda dollars operated in conjunction with decimal fractional coinage, hence ending the pounds, shillings, and pence system in that colony in the year before it was ended in the United Kingdom itself. The decision to finally align with the US dollar was at least in part influenced by the devaluation of sterling in 1967 and Bermuda's increasing tendency to keep its reserves in US dollars. Although Bermuda changed to a U.S. based currency and changed the bulk of its reserves from sterling to U.S. dollars in 1970, it still nevertheless remained a member of the sterling area since at that time, the pound sterling and the US dollar had a fixed exchange rate of £1 = $2.40. The design makes it a bit of an outlier as it does not feature any royal portraits.

All UNC and single tiny faint stain on each note these however not extending into design. Extremely Rare. With the passage of the Union Bank of Burma Act 1952, the sole right of currency issued was transferred from the Burma Currency Board to a newly created Currency Department of the Union Bank of Burma with effect from 1st July 1952. The Burma Currency Board was abolished and its asset and liabilities were transferred to the Union Bank of Burma. Another important change in the new currency is the conversion to a decimal system. When the Union Bank of Burma took over the central bank’s responsibilities, a token issue of the bank notes was made on 1st July 1952. The new bank notes had the rupee denominations (1,5,10,100 rupees) that was later connected to kyat. It included peacock water mark. This set has been given to Mr. Sidney Wellington, Office of the High Commissioner for the United Kingdom who had been working with the UK & Burma Currency Board at the time and the set had stayed in possession of the family ever since. Comes with the contemporary brown envelope abbreviated at top left O.H.M.S (On His Majesty's Service) and the Royal Cypher G.R. of King George VI at bottom left along with a Burma Currency Board seal proof card. Part of a diplomat's group of Burma coins and notes which was accompanied by the original Burma Currency Board Secretary's compliment slip and note to the original recipient Mr. Sidney Wellington, Office of the High Commissioner for the United Kingdom with this original documentation accompanying the Burma Proof Coin listed in the coin section

Halfcrown 1853 ProofESC 687, Bull 2736 UNC the obverse with some very minor contact marks and the coin has been cleaned. 14.12 grammes. Further research shows that PCGS and NGC have graded just 17 examples of this coin. Only issued as part of the 1853 Proof sets, which are of extreme rarity, this is a rare opportunity to obtain a key coin in the Victorian Halfcrown series. This last such coin offered by us was in February 2009.Our archive database indicates we have only previously offered one example, this being sold twice by us, as part of the Andrew Wayne and Roland Harris collections.
Penny 1863 Die Number 2, Freeman 45, dies 6+G (Rarity 19), Gouby BP1863C, Satin 47, pleasant Fine with some old scratches consistent with a Fine grade, this is the first example we have offered. As a relative guide to rarity, in the past we have offered one Die Number 3 and five Die Number 4 Pennies and 6 1877 narrow dates the last of which realised £5500. We also note the Laurie Bamford example of this die number 2 described as VF sold for a hefty £4000 way back in 2006 since when many coin prices have risen by multiples. There was no example in the Workman 1, Workman 2, Alderley, Crocker or Roland Harris Collections
